Ever since the announcement of Rajnikanth's upcoming film Kabali was made, his die-hard fans could not help dreaming, wondering and speculating about their avatar's look in the movie. In the first poster, Rajni can be seen seated in a grey suit with the twin towers of Malaysia in the background while in the second poster, he is portrayed as Kabalesshwaran. The plot of the film is based on the life of a Chennai don Kabalesshwaran. Besides Rajni, the film also stars Dhanshika, Attakathi Dinesh, Radhika Apte and Kalaiarasan.
